Critical Race Theory

The idea
Critical race theory examines how racial inequality is embedded in law and institutions, rather than treating it as individual attitudes alone.
In practice
A hiring rule that names no race can still sort by race, if the rule's requirements track resources distributed unequally by race.
Where people slip
This is a named perspective in its own right, distinct from conflict theory generally, per this course's convention.
