The idea
Judicial review is the courts' power to review the other branches' and the states' actions and rule on their constitutionality. Marbury v. Madison in eighteen oh three established it, the first time the Supreme Court held an act of Congress unconstitutional.
In practice
The Constitution never states the power in words.
Where people slip
Unit 07's 0640 places the courts in the frame.
