Song China revived Confucianism and technology but neglected arms; the Jurchen Jin shrank it. Temujin united the People of the Felt Walls by twelve oh four; as Chinggis Khan he issued the yassa, built the yam relay and a siege-capable army. Ogedei built bureaucracy and Eurasia-wide exchange.
