Population and Sample

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A population is every case a researcher wants to describe; a sample is the subset actually studied.

Show

The population is all first-year undergraduates in the country; the sample is 200 of them at one university.

Watch for

Conclusions travel no further than the sample supports. A campus sample describes a campus.
