The idea
Sampling bias occurs when some members of the population are systematically more likely to be selected than others.
In practice
A survey on study habits recruited only from the library will overstate how much the population studies.
Where people slip
A large biased sample is not safer than a small one. Size multiplies the bias rather than diluting it.
