The idea
Aggression is behavior intended to cause harm to another person who is motivated to avoid it.
In practice
A shove intended to hurt is aggression; an identical shove intended to prevent a fall is not.
Where people slip
Intent is part of the definition. Outcome alone does not classify a behavior as aggression.
