Wandering Baseline

The idea
A wandering baseline drifts slowly up and down instead of staying flat.
In practice
It often follows the patient's breathing or movement, and it can also come from loose or dry electrodes.
Where people slip
Check that every electrode is firmly attached to clean, well-prepared skin, and ask the patient to lie still, before recording again.
