When Blood Does Not Flow

The idea
Sometimes a tube does not fill after the needle enters the skin.
In practice
The needle may sit too shallow or too deep in the vein; move it slowly, a little forward or back, while keeping a firm anchor, or try another tube, since a tube can lose its vacuum.
Where people slip
Never probe or dig with the needle; that injures tissue and nerves.
