Capillary Collections Use a Reversed Order

The idea
For skin punctures, such as fingersticks, the order of collection is reversed from venipuncture.
In practice
The hematology specimen is collected first, followed by chemistry and blood bank specimens, which helps prevent platelet clumping from affecting results.
Where people slip
If many specimens are needed, a venipuncture may give more accurate results than a skin puncture.
