The idea
Hold the syringe like a dart and insert the needle quickly at the angle the injection type calls for.
In practice
A quick, smooth insertion is more comfortable for the patient, and the dart grip prevents pressing the plunger by accident.

Withdraw the needle at the same angle it went in.
