The idea
Eye drops and ointment are placed in the lower conjunctival sac, the pocket formed by gently pulling down the lower lid.
In practice
Ointment is applied in a thin line moving from the inner corner of the eye outward.
Where people slip
Do not let the dropper tip touch the eye or lashes; a touched tip is contaminated.
