The idea
Items are added to a sterile field without the wrapper touching the field.
In practice
Peel a pouch open and drop the item from about six inches above the field; pour a sterile solution into a container from the side of the field, not over it.
Where people slip
Put on sterile gloves away from the field, never over it.
