Sternberg's Intelligences at Midlife
Captions available
The idea
Sternberg's analytical, creative and practical intelligences shift in priority with age: practical intelligence grows with experience, and creative intelligence builds on expertise.
In practice
A mid-career nurse solving a staffing crisis no textbook covers, practical intelligence at work.
Where people slip
Midlife intelligence is better described as a changing profile than as a single rising or falling line.
