Recall Bias
Captions available
The idea
Recall bias arises when the people in one group remember past exposures differently from the people in another — a particular risk where data are gathered by asking about the past.
In practice
Participants with a condition recalling an exposure more readily than those without.
Where people slip
Recall bias is not dishonesty. Having a condition genuinely changes what a person searches their memory for.
