Evidence-Based Practice / Unit 6   EBP 0781 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Quasi-Experimental Designs

Captions available

The idea

A quasi-experimental design delivers an intervention and compares groups, but participants are not randomly assigned to those groups.

In practice

One ward receiving an intervention and another not, by choice rather than by chance.

Where people slip

Without random assignment the groups may differ before the intervention starts, and that difference can produce the result.
