Evidence-Based Practice / Unit 6   EBP 0769 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Clinical Significance

Captions available

The idea

Clinical significance is the impact a finding has clinically — whether the difference is large enough to matter to a patient.

In practice

A real, chance-unlikely difference too small to change anything a patient experiences.

Where people slip

A result can be statistically significant and clinically meaningless. This course never uses either term for the other.
