The idea
Research generates evidence that did not exist; evidence-based practice determines what existing evidence supports. Unit 09 separated them and this chapter is the first.

A study run to produce a finding, and an appraisal run to apply one.
Where people slip
Unit 09 recorded that clinicians are often taught research in place of EBP. Knowing which is which is what that error costs.
