Evidence-Based Practice / Unit 1   EBP 0003 short lesson, about 20 seconds

The Quadruple Aim

Captions available

The idea

Evidence-based practice serves the quadruple aim: improving population health outcomes, reducing cost, enhancing the patient experience, and improving clinicians' work lives.

In practice

A change that improves an outcome, costs less than the events it prevents, and that staff keep.

Where people slip

The fourth aim is dropped most often. A change that improves outcomes by exhausting the staff delivering it has met three of four.
