Grades Combine Evidence and Judgement
Captions available
The idea
Grading a recommendation combines the certainty of the evidence with judgements about benefits, harms, and the values and preferences of patients and society.
In practice
Strong evidence producing a cautious recommendation because the harms are substantial.
Where people slip
A grade is not a restatement of the evidence level. Two different things are being combined.
