The idea
Prometheus Unbound, published in eighteen twenty, is a four-act lyrical drama inspired by Aeschylus. Unlike Aeschylus, Shelley allows no reconciliation: the tyrant Jupiter falls from power and Prometheus is freed, an allegory of humanity's liberation.
In practice
Tyranny falls; Prometheus is freed.
Where people slip
Shelley rejects the reconciliation in Aeschylus.
