John Keats: Life and Letters
Captions available
The idea
John Keats, son of a livery-stable keeper, trained as a surgeon before giving his life to poetry. Harsh reviews and his death at twenty-five led some to believe he died of a broken heart; he died of tuberculosis in Rome. His letters show remarkable conceptual thinking.
In practice
Surgeon's apprentice, poet, letters.
Where people slip
The broken-heart story is a myth.
