Platform as a Service
Captions available
The idea
Platform as a service is on-demand access to a cloud-hosted platform for developing, running, and managing applications — middleware, language runtimes, and tools prepackaged, with the provider maintaining all of it.
In practice
A school's developers push code and never patch a server again.
Where people slip
The platform's conveniences are also its boundaries.
