Infrastructure as a Service
Captions available
The idea
Infrastructure as a service is on-demand access to cloud-hosted infrastructure — servers, storage, network — provisioned and configured by the customer, while the provider hosts, manages, and maintains it.
In practice
A firm sizes its rented fleet up for quarter-close and back down after.
Where people slip
The customer still builds everything above the metal.
