The idea
A verb expresses an action, an occurrence or a state of being, and it changes form to show who acts and when.
In practice
Most verbs have a base form, a past form and a past participle, the form used after have: walk, walked, have walked.
Where people slip
Errors often come from using the past form where the participle belongs, as in "has wrote."
