College Composition / Unit 26 CMP 0636 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
A Web Page Reference
The idea
An APA reference for a work published only on a website gives the author, the full date, the title of the work in italics, the website name, and the URL.
In practice
Build it in order. First, the author, a person or an organization. Second, the date in parentheses: the year, then the month and day if available. Third, the title of the page or work in italics and sentence case. Fourth, the name of the website, unless it is the same as the author. Fifth, the URL. When no date is given, APA uses the abbreviation n d, for "no date," in place of the year.
Where people slip
When the author and the website are the same organization, do not repeat the name; give it once, as the author.
