Degree and Leading Coefficient

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

The degree of a polynomial is the highest power of the variable; the leading term carries that power, and its coefficient is the leading coefficient.

Show

In 4x³ − 9x² + 6x, the degree is 3, the leading term is 4x³, and the leading coefficient is 4.

Builds on

  • Nothing — this is a starting point.

Unlocks

  • Nothing yet depends on this.
