Graphs of Inverse Functions

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

The graph of an inverse function is the original graph reflected across the line y = x, because reversing inputs and outputs swaps every point's coordinates.

Show

The point (4, 11) on f(x) = 2x + 3 lands at (11, 4) on its inverse — coordinates traded, mirror line y = x.

Builds on

  • Nothing — this is a starting point.

Unlocks

  • Nothing yet depends on this.
