Evaluating versus Solving
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
Evaluating a function answers "what output does this input give"; solving f(x) = k answers "what inputs give this output" — the two questions run in opposite directions.
Show
For f(x) = 2x + 3: evaluating at 5 gives 13; solving f(x) = 13 recovers x = 5.
