Evaluating at a Sum
Captions available
The idea
Evaluating a function at a sum means substituting the whole sum as the input: f(a + b) is computed by feeding in a + b, not by splitting it.
In practice
For f(x) = x²: f(1 + 4) = f(5) = 25. The sum went in first; the machine ran once.
