The Square Root Property
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
The square root property states that x² = k has two solutions, x = √k and x = −√k, written x = ±√k.
Show
x² = 9 gives x = ±3: 3² and (−3)² land on 9. The radical names one root; the equation owns two.
Watch for
The ± belongs to the equation, not to the radical.
