The Quadratic Formula
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
The quadratic formula solves every quadratic in standard form: x = (−b ± √(b² − 4ac)) / (2a).
Show
For 2x² + 5x − 3 = 0: x = (−5 ± √49)/4 = (−5 ± 7)/4, landing on 1/2 and −3.
Watch for
The formula is completing the square, run once for all time.
