Regulation of Glycolysis by Phosphofructokinase

The idea
Phosphofructokinase, glycolysis's rate-limiting enzyme, is allosterically inhibited by high ATP and citrate and activated by high ADP, tying pathway speed to actual energy need.
In practice
When a cell's ATP supply is already high, phosphofructokinase slows, and glycolysis backs up rather than overproducing ATP.
Where people slip
This is feedback inhibition, per Bio 0532, applied to one named enzyme — not a separate mechanism.
