Trichromatic Color Coding

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Human color vision uses three cone types tuned to short, medium, and long wavelengths; perceived color emerges from the relative activity ratio across all three, not any one cone alone.

Show

Equal stimulation of all three cone types is perceived as white light.

Watch for

A two-cone, dichromatic system is possible but limits the range of distinguishable colors compared with the human trichromatic system.
