Negative Feedback Loop

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A negative feedback loop reverses the direction of a stimulus, pushing a rising level down or a falling level up, and dominates homeostatic correction.

Show

Rising blood glucose triggers insulin release, which lowers glucose back toward its set point.

Watch for

"Negative" names the loop's corrective direction, not a bad outcome — a loop raising a too-low level is negative feedback too.
