Three Muscle Tissue Types

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Muscle tissue takes three forms: smooth muscle is involuntary and unstriated, skeletal muscle is voluntary and striated with many nuclei, and cardiac muscle is involuntary, striated, and single-nucleated.

Show

Cardiac muscle cells link through intercalated discs that pass an electrical impulse quickly from cell to cell.

Watch for

Cardiac muscle is not under conscious control even though it shares skeletal muscle's striated appearance.
