Captions available
The idea
Calling humans the most evolved animal overstates a real distinction — every living species has accumulated the same span of time since life's origin.
In practice
A shark lineage and a human lineage have each evolved continuously for the same span since their shared ancestor diverged.
Where people slip
This entry states the ranking misconception — Bio 2313 explains why evolution supports no such hierarchy.
