Fitness and Relative Fitness
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
Fitness is an individual's genetic contribution to the next generation; relative fitness compares that against others in the same population, not any absolute standard.
Show
An individual whose offspring survive and reproduce better than the population average has higher relative fitness, whatever its absolute output.
Watch for
Relative fitness is comparative within one population — the same individual could have a different value elsewhere.
