Water's Polarity

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Water is a polar molecule, carrying a partial negative charge near its oxygen and a partial positive charge near each hydrogen.

Show

That partial charge lets one water molecule hydrogen-bond to several neighbors at once, forming a loose, constantly shifting network.

Watch for

Water's polarity, not its size or its abundance, is the property behind nearly every distinctive behavior water shows.
