Translational Regulation

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Translational regulation controls how efficiently an mRNA already delivered to the ribosome is actually translated into protein.

Show

A regulatory protein binding an mRNA's start codon or untranslated region blocks ribosome access, reducing how much protein that mRNA produces.

Watch for

This level acts on an mRNA that already exists and is otherwise ready — it changes translation efficiency, not the mRNA's sequence or abundance.
