Convergence, If Separable

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Whenever some straight boundary can separate the two piles, the nudging procedure is guaranteed to settle — and when no such boundary exists, it nudges forever.

Show

The melon piles were separable, so four passes sufficed; the guarantee is a famous early theorem of the field.

Watch for

Convergence on the training pile says nothing about new melons — the drawer's verdict is separate.
