Stimuli: What Comes In

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A stimulus is anything the environment delivers to an agent — an observation the agent picks up, or an action the environment imposes on it.

Show

A bicycle courier observes the light turn amber and is shoved by a crosswind: both are stimuli, only one was looked for.

Watch for

What an agent cannot sense bounds its knowable world — the courier has no rear-view.
