Deterministic and Stochastic

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

An environment is deterministic when each action has exactly one possible result, and stochastic when the same action can lead to different results.

Show

An elevator button versus a bed of planted seeds: one action with one outcome, one action with a spread of outcomes.

Watch for

Acting well under spread means comparing spreads, not lucky cases — arithmetic Unit 6 builds.
