Why One Poem, Two Senses, Is the Lesson
Captions available
The idea
If a word could be settled once and remembered, this question type would be vocabulary. Sonnet twelve proves it cannot. The sense is a property of the sentence, not of the word, so the work is local every time and no list can be learned in advance.
In practice
Sense belongs to the sentence.
Where people slip
No list replaces reading the line.
