ACT Preparation / Unit 4   ACT 0322 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Their, There and They're; Your and You're

Captions available

The idea

Their is possessive, there names a place, and they're means they are. Your is possessive, and you're means you are.

In practice

"They're parking their bikes over there." "You're welcome to borrow your sister's notes."

Where people slip

Expand any apostrophe form: if they are or you are fits, keep it. If not, the word is possessive or a place.

Your place on the trail

Every lesson rests on earlier ones and opens later ones. Tap any to jump.
