ACT Preparation / Unit 22   ACT 2122 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Electric Circuits

The idea

Electric current is the flow of charge through a circuit, driven by a voltage. For many materials, current is directly proportional to voltage: I = V/R, where R is the resistance. This is Ohm's law.

In practice

A 12-volt battery across a 4-ohm resistor drives a current of 3 amperes.

Where people slip

More resistance means less current for the same voltage.
