ACT Preparation / Unit 22 ACT 2121 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Waves
Captions available
The idea
A wave is a disturbance that travels. Its wavelength is the distance between matching points, its frequency is the number of cycles per second, and its speed equals wavelength times frequency.
In practice
Wavelength 2 meters and frequency 3 per second: speed 6 meters per second.
Where people slip
For a wave of fixed speed, a higher frequency means a shorter wavelength.
