ACT Preparation / Unit 3 ACT 0210 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Past Participle After Have
Captions available
The idea
Irregular verbs have a past form and a separate past participle, and the participle is the form used after has, have or had.
In practice
"She went home," but "She has gone home." "They saw it," but "They had seen it."
Where people slip
"Had went" and "has saw" are errors: after have, use the participle.
