ACT Preparation / Unit 18 ACT 1702 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Evidence: Facts, Judgments and Testimony

The idea
Evidence comes in kinds: facts, which often cannot be disputed; judgments, which are conclusions drawn from facts; and testimony, the words of an eyewitness or an expert.
In practice
A crash count is a fact; "the intersection is the city's most dangerous" is a judgment; a paramedic's account is testimony.
Where people slip
A judgment is only as strong as the facts and reasoning beneath it.
