The idea
France fought continuously from sixteen eighty to seventeen fifteen, against the Habsburgs; England, the Netherlands and Austria allied against Louis. The Spanish Succession war, seventeen-oh-one to thirteen, began when the last Spanish Habsburg named Louis's grandson heir.
