The idea
Social Darwinists found the unfit inside Europe too: alcoholics, the promiscuous, unwed mothers, criminals, the disabled. Charity and unions were artificial checks on selection. The conclusion was eugenics: let the unfit die, and limit their breeding by sterilization. Fear of degeneration gave it urgency.
